We all know what it's like to feel tired and unmotivated when working towards a big goal. Trust me, I've been there! Even now while I am working full time, doing coursework, and doing my internship, I have to complete a ton of field experience hours. There are so many days where I have felt completely overwhelmed and exhausted, but I know I can't just give up.
One thing that helps me stay on track is breaking down my big goal into smaller, more manageable steps. Instead of stressing about completing all my hours, I have focused on doing just one hour at a time. This makes the goal seem way less scary and actually doable.
I also found it super helpful to remind myself why I am doing this in the first place. Why did I want to become a counselor? What kind of impact do I want to have on people's lives? Remembering my "why" helps me push through the tough times and stay committed to my goal.
It's important to remember that it's totally okay to take breaks when you're feeling burnt out. Sometimes the best thing you can do is step away from your work for a bit and recharge. This can help you come back feeling refreshed and ready to focus.
And finally, don't be afraid to reach out for help when you need it. Talk to your friends, family, or coworkers about how you're feeling. They might be able to offer support, give you a pep talk, or even offer some practical advice. Remember, you don't have to go through this alone!
