Happy Fatherless Day: Entry 7
June 3, 2017 on the plane ride home I wrote: So here I am. I made it through. And it didnt kill me. It actually was good for me. My siblings were outside the door as I walked up. The first thing they said was "oh, yeah that's our sister. Look at that forehead". As I walked in the door my dad immediately recognized me and began to cry. I am glad that I could bring him joy in that moment. I think those tears were a little different than the tears that came at the end, but we will talk about that later.
He held my hand for quite a while as the tears began to flow for me as well. My brother did a typical male thing and said "man, I'm going outside. Ya'll about to make me mad" which translated to "let me go outside so ya'll cant see me cry". I visited my dad 3 days in a row. Interesting that in 3 days I saw my dad just as much as I had remembered seeing him my whole life.
